On March 13, 26-year-old Breonna Taylor was shot dead in her home while she was sleeping.

Three plainclothes police officers entered the apartment due to a drug investigation.

According to the police themselves, they knocked on the door several times before breaking in and were met by gunfire.

But Breonna Taylor's boyfriend says that was not the case.

He has said that he thought it was a question of a burglary and that he fired shots in self-defense.

In the shooting, Breonna Taylor was hit by eight of the police bullets and killed.

A police officer was also injured.

No drugs were ever found during the operation.

No-knock warrants were banned

The police who entered the apartment had a so-called "no-knock warrant", which means that they had permission to search the house, without having to warn or knock.

But in June, "no-knock warrants" were banned in Louisville, Kentucky.

One of the policemen was also fired, the other two are still suspended.

This is one of the cases that has led to major protests in the United States.

On Wednesday evening, the prosecution jury announced that at least one police officer is being prosecuted.
