The European Football Association (UEFA) announced the short list of candidates to win the European Footballer of the Year award for the past season.

The list included two Bayern Munich players, Robert Lewandowski, German goalkeeper Manuel Neuer, as well as Belgian star Kevin De Bruyne, the Manchester City playmaker.

Leva led the Bavarian team to winning its sixth title in the Champions League by scoring 15 goals in the competition and crowning its top scorer, and the Poland captain scored 55 goals in 47 matches for Bayern, who crowned the three last season.

As for Neuer, the German national team captain, was a key part and an active contributor to the Bayern squad, which culminated in the three last season, and kept his nets clean in 6 matches in the continental competition and missed only one game last season.

As for the Belgian magician, he equaled a European record by making 20 goals in the Premier League, the highest in European competitions.

De Bruyne scored 16 goals and scored 23 more in all competitions last season.

The struggle was confined to 3 German coaches to win the award for best coach in Europe for last season, and they are: Hans Fliks (Bayern Munich), Juliet Naglismann (Leipzig) and Jürgen Klopp (Liverpool),

It is noteworthy that the award will be presented at the draw for the group stage of the Champions League for the 2020-2021 season on the 1st of next month.
