According to a witness to the scene, a man walking on the sidewalk suddenly fell onto the roadway as a garbage truck was restarting.

The 79-year-old victim was hit by the vehicle and the emergency services arrived quickly and were unable to revive her.

The septuagenarian died at the scene of the tragedy.

As for the driver, he was heard by the Traffic Accidents and Crime Brigade.
