Governor Koike of Tokyo met with Prime Minister Suga and agreed to cooperate on measures against the new coronavirus and the holding of the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Governor Koike of Tokyo visited the Prime Minister's Office on the afternoon of the 23rd and had a meeting with Prime Minister Suga.
In this, Governor Koike said, "As Tokyo, measures against the new coronavirus and the holding of the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics are major issues. We would like to proceed in cooperation with the national government."
In response, Prime Minister Suga responded, "I am exactly the same."
They agreed that the government and the capital would work together, including the promotion of digitalization of the administration, which Prime Minister Suga is focusing on.
After the meeting, Governor Koike told reporters, "The idea is the same in that the cooperation between the government and the capital contributes to national interests and the convenience of the citizens of Tokyo."
