As noted, Shamsutdinov underwent a forensic psychological and psychiatric in-patient examination.

According to the conclusion, he did not suffer from any mental disorder, dementia, or other morbid state of the psyche, which would deprive him of the ability to "realize the actual nature and social danger of his actions and control them."

In early August, Shamsutdinov's defense requested that his case be considered by a jury.

As expected, the preliminary court hearing in the Shamsutdinov case will be held on September 29.
