The Executive confirmed today the willingness of PNV and EH Bildu to negotiate the 2021 Budgets, which the two groups had already advanced, and their willingness also to help the Government in the reform plan that it intends to promote during this political course.

Before the summer, it seemed that all of Moncloa's actions would turn to initiatives to alleviate the economic and social impact of the coronavirus crises.

But the approval of the legislative calendar for this period has shown that the Executive does not completely border its political project.

As an example, the Democratic Memory law, the draft of which the Council of Ministers has already approved in first reading, or the promotion of the reform of the Penal Code to modify the crime of sedition.

In order to test the degree of interest of the groups in negotiating the Budgets, but also the rest of the issues, the first vice president, Carmen Calvo, holds meetings with all the parties, except for Vox, which does not answer any calls from the Government .

Today it was the turn of the two Basque groups.

With the PNV the Executive knows that there are no problems.

The relationship is very fluid and, both in Bilbao and in Congress, Basque nationalists always have very good information on the steps taken by the coalition Executive.

In fact, its spokesman, Aitor Esteban, ratified "the predisposition" of the PNV "to dialogue and understanding."

Yesterday, according to the sources consulted, among the issues addressed was the blockade in the renewal of the General Council of the Judiciary, which the PP refuses to negotiate with the Government due to the rejection of United We Can to the Monarchy.

And that it deals with the PNV may be important because the path of the agreement with the PP is blinded but the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, in an interview on TVE, announced his intention to “articulate parliamentary majorities that allow the unblocking of the institutions ”.

Mathematically it would be possible because the three-fifths of the Chamber that are needed to renew the CGPJ are achieved with the votes of all groups, except PP and Vox.

But to cite some drawbacks, Ciudadanos is radically against this system of electing the governing body of judges and, in addition, it would be necessary to add groups as diverse as UPN and the CUP.

With Bildu the meeting went just as well.

Since, as a result of the negotiations for the investiture, the PSOE normalized the dialogue with the party led by Arnaldo Otegi, the channel is open and the abertzales are willing to dialogue.
