A real wild boar mass grave was discovered in early September in the forest of Eu, in Seine-Maritime.

No less than 18 animals, including wild boar, were found piled up on top of each other in the town of Bazinval.

Photos of the mass grave were shared on social networks by a resident of the region on Friday.

According to him, a total of 283 wild boar corpses have been found in the forest of Eu recently, reports

L'Éclaireur du Vimeu

.

The bodies of the animals, already in an advanced state of decomposition, are "untransportable" and give off a terrible odor according to local media.

Toxicological analyzes soon known

It is not known what killed the animals.

On social networks, the assumptions are rife, between swine fever and morbid result of a hunting party.

The arrangement of the bodies, piled on top of each other at a precise location, is disturbing.

Toxicological analyzes carried out on the corpses of wild boars have been carried out and the results are expected within the week.

"We are awaiting the results [...] before reacting," said the director of the departmental Federation of Seine-Maritime hunters, interviewed this Monday by the local daily.

“In a forty-year career, such facts have never happened.
