The motion, which was rejected by a large majority, proposed a trial activity with free menstrual protection for girls up to and including the age of 23 at one of the county's youth clinics.

If the business then turned out well, it would be implemented throughout the county.

The regional board's statement to the motion on free menstrual protection states that the region's activities shall be about

measures to medically prevent, investigate and treat diseases and injuries.

It also states that today there is no research that shows that free menstrual protection prevents illness or health.
