The Sudanese Minister of Information, Faisal Muhammad Saleh, denied that his country's delegation - which is currently visiting the UAE - discussed the issue of normalization with Israel during its meeting with the US administration team there.

In a press conference by the Minister of Information - who is also the spokesman for the Sudanese transitional government - today, Tuesday, he explained that "the ministerial delegation accompanying the head of the transitional sovereign council, Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, does not carry a mandate to discuss normalization with Israel."

He stressed that his country's position "is consistent with regard to normalization with Israel, and we have no mandate to take decisions in such matters, which are among the tasks of an elected government, and we are still at the same position."

On Sunday, Al-Burhan headed a Sudanese delegation to the UAE, to discuss with Gulf country officials "regional issues related to the Sudanese issue," according to the Sovereignty Council.

Saleh explained that the delegation in the UAE "is authorized to discuss removing Sudan from the list of countries sponsoring terrorism with the American administration team present there."

He added, "The presence of Minister of Justice Nasreddin Abdel Bari in the delegation comes to discuss the judicial and judicial aspects according to which the American courts have ruled in Sudan's cases, in preparation for removing it from the list of states sponsoring terrorism."

He pointed out that "the file of foreign relations on political aspects is one of the tasks of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, but the judicial and judicial aspects of relations with the United States are the duties of the Minister of Justice."

Saleh’s statements come in response to what was said by a member of the Central Council of the Forces of Freedom and Change (leader of the popular movement), Ahmed Hazra, to the local Sudan Tribune website, who stated that the ruling coalition is discussing today, Tuesday, the issue of normalization with Israel, and the results of the visit of al-Burhan and his accompanying delegation to the UAE.

The American news site Axios reported, according to Sudanese sources, that US, Emirati and Sudanese officials will hold a crucial meeting in Abu Dhabi regarding a possible normalization agreement between Sudan and Israel.
