Having to bring in an extra 900 in the workforce is certainly something that every business leader would avoid in corona times.

But at Billerud-Korsnäs in Frövi, there is no choice when the annual shutdown for control of the facility takes place in week 40.

- These are consultants and experts that we must bring in to check the equipment, explains Carl-Johan Albinsson, who is acting factory manager.

It is a statutory requirement for us to be allowed to conduct business and of course something we want to do to guarantee safety.

The work must be carried out in accordance with current regulations

But in corona times, of course, it also means an increased risk when many people from different places are to be at the facility at the same time.

- We have worked together with the public health authority, the county administrative board and the Örebro county region to ensure that the work takes place in accordance with current regulations, says Carl-Johan Albinsson.

Among other things, we have introduced food tents and informed all consulting firms that we expect them to comply with all additional requirements.

The worst that can happen

The municipality of Lindesberg welcomes the annual shutdown, which usually means a boost for traders and business owners.

- But of course it is extra sensitive this year, states municipal director Henrik Arenvang.

Therefore, we have come out with information about what will happen and urge all residents to follow the guidelines.

The worst that could happen is that we get a large local outbreak of covid-19.
