The flight was carried out within the framework of the "Slavic Brotherhood 2020" joint military exercise being held by Russia and Belarus.

  The announcement stated that during the flight, the Russian strategic bomber, with the cooperation of Belarusian fighters, exercised the mission of providing cover to the ground forces of the two countries participating in the exercise.

  The "Slavic Brotherhood 2020" joint tactical exercise was conducted in Belarus from the 14th to the 25th.

Since 2015, Belarus, Russia and Serbia have taken turns hosting the "Slavic Brotherhood" joint military exercise every year.
