The Bordeaux metropolitan area is reorganizing itself to cope with the influx of requests for Covid-19 screening.

Two new centers will thus open, the first from Wednesday at the Place des Quinconces, the second in the coming days at the Arena de Floirac.

These two centers, opened by the ARS Nouvelle-Aquitaine in conjunction with the Gironde prefecture, the town hall and the metropolis of Bordeaux and with the support of the Bordeaux University Hospital and Civil Protection, will organize free screening operations. (100% covered by Health Insurance) of Covid-19.

They must come to relieve the saturated medical analysis laboratories.

Prioritization of access to tests

But unlike those installed on the quays or Place Saint-Projet, and which had to close due to strong demand, to access these two centers, it will be necessary to have a medical prescription, or to have been identified as a contact to risk of a case confirmed by the health authority (with proof from Health Insurance such as an SMS).

"The very high attendance of free screening operations organized in Bordeaux since the beginning of September has made it necessary to prioritize access to tests" justifies the ARS.

People can go directly to the entrance of the barnum installed on the Place des Quinconces.

The RT-PCR tests (nasal sample) will be analyzed by the Bordeaux University Hospital laboratory and sent by SMS within 24 hours.

The Quinconces center will be open until October 30, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
