He noted that the SVR has recorded high activity of some Western countries “in promoting the so-called“ Navalny case ”.

The SVR chief added that it is extremely important for the United States to secure the closure of this project, which calls into question the White House's plans to increase the supply of American liquefied natural gas to Europe.
Earlier, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said that Washington is working to create a coalition to prevent the completion of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline.
He also expressed the hope that Germany will come to the same opinion because of what happened to Navalny, or "because of the real security implications of dependence on Russian gas."
