“The availability of the VKontakte mobile application in Ukraine was not due to the lifting of sanctions, but due to changes in proxy servers, which made it possible to bypass the blocking of access by providers to this application on the territory of Ukraine,” the text says.

On May 13, the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine extended for three years the sanctions against Russian social networks Mail.ru, VKontakte, Odnoklassniki and others, the ministry's press service reported.
