Valérie Oppelt, deputy La République en Marche for Nantes, and elected municipal opposition to the town hall of Nantes, has received death threats.

She announced it on her Twitter account.

“I have just received at my parliamentary office in Nantes a letter threatening my death on me and my family,” she explains.

I will not be intimidated by this abject and nauseating act of cowardice.

Valérie Oppelt indicates that she will file a complaint.

During her electoral campaign, the MP had seen her local campaign attacked and degraded by anti-LREM tags at least twice.

A dozen masked individuals attacked our room & damaged the facade.

They tried to force the door.

Thank you @ PoliceNat44 for your responsiveness.

Gérard Darmanin, the Minister of the Interior, reacted on social networks by condemning this act and by supporting the MP.

The mayor of Nantes Johanna Rolland also posted a message on Twitter.

"Threats of violence have no place in our society," she said.

Violence and hatred are the cowardice of the weak.

I assure @valerie_oppelt and his family of my absolute support in the face of these unacceptable threats.
