- A decision has now been made to leave a total of four locations in 2021, of which Högsby is one.

The reason why we are reducing our operations is that the number of asylum seekers to Sweden has fallen, says regional manager Åsa Lindberg.

The decision to close local offices in four locations, of which Högsby is one, is based on a reduced need.

Fewer people seek asylum, and therefore not as many places are needed.

A restructuring process is now beginning with negotiations, possible relocations and other measures.

Only after that is it clear how great the redundancy is and how many are at risk of being laid off.

Today, about 20 people work at the Swedish Migration Agency's office in Högsby.

- It is a sad message to have to leave to the employees in Högsby. We will now do what we can to make their situation as good as possible under the prevailing circumstances, says Åsa Lindberg.
