US agency: Coronavirus can be transmitted through the air

The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has warned that the emerging corona virus (Covid-19) can spread through airborne particles that may remain suspended in the air and travel more than six feet.

The centers said earlier that the virus mainly spreads from person to person through droplets when a patient coughs, sneezes or speaks.

The guidelines that were updated and posted on the centers' website recommended that people use air purifiers to reduce germs in the air indoors to avoid the spread of disease.

Viruses in the air are among the most contagious, and the centers have warned that poorly ventilated places increase the risk of spread.

Studies have shown that the emerging corona virus can spread through aerosols in the air, and the World Health Organization said it is monitoring "emerging evidence" of the possibility of transmission through the air.
