22 people in Västerbotten have been found infected since last Friday.
A person from the county is being cared for in hospital for covid-19.
Stephan Stenmark, infection control doctor at the Västerbotten Region, says that they see an increase mainly in the Umeå area.
- We see an increase now.
It is about both individual cases and small groups within families where several become positive, or around a workplace or activity, says Stephan Stenmark.

The infection control doctor says that the county still has a low proportion of infected people in terms of those who are sampled, but prefers to break the trend, for example through continued caution when visiting restaurants.
- We are happy to break this increase, this is done by following the recommendations.
We believe that people need to be more careful about keeping physical distance indoors, says Stephan Stenmark.
937 have fallen ill in the county since the corona pandemic broke out.
