Ingvar and Katarina Backhamre returned from the USA to Katarina Backhamre's childhood town of Karlshamn seven years ago.

Pretty soon, they started donating money to the city in various contexts.

Karlshamn Golf Club in Mörrum has received ten million kronor, which, among other things, has gone to a new clubhouse.

Karlshamn's museum has also received money;

In 2016, the couple donated SEK 200,000 there.

Distributes scholarships every autumn

Last year, Backhamre began handing out his scholarship.

Every year, the Ingvar and Katarina Backhamre Memorial Foundation will distribute approximately SEK 600,000 in areas such as culture, social assistance and finance.

They have also donated twelve million to the Blekinge nation at Lund University, where they met and became a couple many years ago. The money has gone to new student housing.
