It was on Saturday night that the stones were discovered on the track near Blomstermåla.

One of the trains that passed Blomstermåla on its way from Kalmar to Linköping had to go past Blomstermåla at walking speed.

The train driver shouted out in the loudspeaker system that there were reports of sabotage on the rails.

Transdev, which runs Kustpilentågen, closely monitors developments.

A chair on the track

- On the same day, there were reports that someone had laid stones on the track in Hultsfred as well.

Earlier that week, on September 14, we received information that a chair was on the track in Blomstermåla, says Marie-Louise Arnell, business manager at Transdev.

No one was injured on any of the three occasions.

SVT Småland has previously reported on recurring sabotage against Kustpilen in Södra Vi.

There, Transdev has been in contact with the schools to get information about how dangerous it is to put objects on the track and what the consequences may be.

- If more things happen in Blomstermåla, we will do that as well.

Stones can be thrown away with full force

In addition to the fact that it is dangerous to stay so close to a train track, it can be really nasty if the trains run on a rock and it is thrown away into the terrain.

- A stone can go away with great force and if a person nearby gets it in the head, it can die, says Marie-Louise Arnell.

In addition, the stones can damage the train and cause derailment.

Marie-Louise Arnell thinks a lot about train drivers.

- It is a big work environment issue.

It is very unpleasant to discover that something is on the track.

The police have drawn up a report of attempted sabotage but currently have nothing to go on because no one seems to have seen when it happened.

"We urge all parents to talk to their children about the dangers of being on the train and putting something on it, the damage can be enormous," said Robert Loeffel, the police spokesman.
