The 18th Cross-Strait Youth Forum, co-sponsored by the All-China Youth Federation, Taiwan Chinese Youth Exchange Association, and Taiwan Innovation and Entrepreneurship Federation, was held in Xiamen, Fujian on September 19.

With the theme of "Opportunities and Challenges for Cross-Strait Youth Integration and Development", this forum was conducted in a combination of online and offline methods.

500 people including well-known scholars, heads of associations and representatives of young students from both sides of the strait talked freely about the mission of the times and integrated development of the youth on both sides of the strait.

Overcome difficulties and fight the epidemic

After the opening ceremony, the keynote forum of the current Straits Youth Forum focused on the theme, using the main venue in Xiamen to share, guest keynote speeches, and the Internet to connect 6 sub-venues in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Wuhan, Chongqing, and Taipei. Inviting 3 youth representatives from both sides of the strait to share, and 6 guest commentators to participate in the interaction.

The theme forum is divided into a challenge chapter, an encounter chapter and a fusion chapter.

The challenge invited Taiqing Xue Yingxuan to tell the story of her experience of working in the media in Wuhan, especially the story of staying in the mainland during the epidemic to complete her online film debut "Azalea in the Dream", and contributing to the fight against the epidemic by creating songs.

"My motherland and I can't be separated for a moment..." Xue Yingxuan couldn't help but sing sincerely while speaking on the spot.

He said: "No spring will not come, no difficulties will not leave." Xue Yingxuan revealed that in order to prepare for the film in progress, he gave up the opportunity to charter back to Taiwan.

During the quarantine period, he felt very desperate, but when he saw the medical staff and volunteers rushing to Wuhan, everyone was on the front line, not afraid of danger and selfless dedication. "At that moment, I suddenly felt relieved because I saw The cohesion of the whole country."

After listening to Xue Yingxuan's speech, a guest at the scene said with emotion that the 10 million people in Wuhan have made great contributions and sacrifices to fight the epidemic and prevent the epidemic, and Xue Yingxuan, as a Taiwanese youth, chose to become one of these ten million, which is very admirable.

"The Chinese nation deserves a bright future." I hope that more Taiwanese youths like Xue Yinghu can succeed on the mainland, so that the estrangement between the two sides of the strait will disappear.

Seize new opportunities in the Greater Bay Area

The Opportunity Chapter invites Zheng Mingjia, the "parent" of Guangzhou Taiwan Youth Home, to tell his story of letting more Taiwanese youth understand, experience, and participate in the development of the Greater Bay Area and share the opportunities in the Greater Bay Area.

Zheng Mingjia told the young people on the island that the Greater Bay Area has a large population and market, and there are many opportunities for Taiwan Youth League. “Since you come to this market, just roll up your sleeves and do it!” The Taiwan Youth Home is happy to build for Taiwan’s youth. A bridge.

Huo Qigang, vice chairman of the All-China Youth Federation and member of the Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and Overseas Chinese Committee of the 13th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, told young people on both sides of the strait through a “cloud message” that finding the right place for entrepreneurship is the most important thing, and secondly, it is to spot trends and seize opportunities.

This "right place" is of course the Greater Bay Area. Young people in Taiwan can first come to the Greater Bay Area to feel the atmosphere by studying, and then connect to work and entrepreneurship.

Huo Qigang also encourages young people on both sides of the strait, no matter where they are from, as long as they can seize the opportunity to come to the Greater Bay Area, they can make profound changes in their future lives and careers.

The fusion chapter invited Zhu Huining, an entrepreneur in Xiamen's internet celebrity economy, to introduce the story of the establishment of Ningjiajun Media and the incubation of internet celebrity anchors.

Zhu Huining said that many young people in Taiwan want to participate in the current Internet celebrity economy, but they don't know where to start. In fact, the focus is integration.

"Social + e-commerce + live broadcast, you can use your creativity according to your own specialties, permutation and combination!"

Taiwanese guest Qiu Yi expressed in the form of "cloud comment" that there are many opportunities in emerging industries, but for Taiwanese youths, they must match their professional strengths and choose the place where they can fit in and have the least psychological distance.

He believes that in the face of a new and rapidly changing market environment, "integrated development" is the only way for young people to succeed in entrepreneurship. They must not only integrate into the two sides of the strait, but also integrate different industries and bravely cross the border.

 Embrace the "cloud" lifestyle

Cross-strait youth exchanges, of course, also include integration in life.

When the representative of the mainland's new youth and well-known e-sports player Baolan appeared at the forum, he received cheers from fans on both sides of the strait.

The live interaction between Baolan and Taiwan Youth anchor Zhu Huining uses "e-sports language" throughout the entire process, and communication is barrier-free, which vividly presents the multiple development possibilities of young people on both sides of the strait in the Internet age.

Kuaishou Deputy Editor-in-Chief Ni Chao introduced in his keynote speech that as a platform for recording and sharing, equality and inclusiveness, Kuaishou particularly encourages cross-strait youth exchanges and cooperation. With the help of the technical advantages of short video and live broadcast on the Kuaishou platform, it breaks the limitation of geographic distance. Interact with each other's dreams and real lives, understand each other and grow together.

"There is no backwardness and danger that you have heard about. How your dream should be realized is not what other people say. You should always go out by yourself, wherever you go in the mainland, feel free to walk around..." 3 Taiqing The theme recite "Please Be Brave Like Me", which pushed the atmosphere of the forum and each branch to a climax.

Taiwanese guest Huang Zhixian also responded to Taiqing in the "cloud" and loudly encouraged: "If I were your age, I would not hesitate now!"
