September 21, 2020 "What we achieved today is a historic result. Let's go back to having a normal Parliament, with 345 seats and fewer privileges. It is politics that gives a signal to citizens. Without the 5 Star Movement all this would never have happened".

So on Facebook

Luigi Di Maio

, commenting on the first results on the constitutional referendum.

"Now the logical consequence would be that the Chambers were dissolved in order to finally test the efficiency achieved with the reform".

Riccardo Molinari

says it

, group leader in the Chamber of the League.

"Also because it would be strange to have a Parliament not in line with the Constitution in its composition and even stranger to think that a Parliament disheartened by the citizens could choose the next President of the Republic", he adds.

Nicola Zingaretti

is "satisfied" with the result of the referendum.

As the sources of the Democratic Party explain, "the validity of the choice of the Democratic Party is confirmed".

"Now forward with the reforms. We will also represent many of the concerns of those who voted No, considering only the cut of the parliamentarians unsatisfactory", underline the same sources.

"It seems to me that if the data are confirmed, the victory of the Yes seems clear, albeit to a lesser extent than expected. The No has reached an unexpected result given the context and the starting conditions. The victory of the Yes closes this phase and opens another, as I did previously I reiterate the need to work on corrective measures, such as the electoral law, to reduce the damage caused by this reform ".

The national spokesman of the Italian Left, a member of Leu,

Nicola Fratoianni

, says this to Adnkronos

.

"Now they have to follow electoral laws that allow certainty of the expression of the vote and guarantee for citizens to be able to choose the parliamentarians by not leaving them to the party secretariats, therefore preferences".

The group leader in the Chamber of the Brothers of Italy,

Francesco Lollobrigida

,

said this on Tg1

, commenting on the first results of the referendum.

FdI, he added, "has invested in yes, we have voted four times, and only the strong politicization of the 5-star movement risked putting the result on a situation different from what the Italians expected".

"The result is in line with expectations. Giving the voters the opportunity to cut the number of parliamentarians was too tempting. However, we must reflect because all the problems of the territories to represent remain that cannot be overlooked".

Forza Italia senator

Maurizio Gasparri
