The Administrative Court in Karlstad handles cases from both Värmland and Örebro counties.

From 2017 to 2019, the number of goals received increased from 5,881 to 7,136. The increase has continued this year as well.

- And now the processing times increase, of course, because the goals come at a pace that we can not meet with existing resources, says Marie-Jeanette Axelius Friberg.

On September 1 this year, 2,964 cases were pending before the court.

This figure means that the court - which deals with appealed decisions from, among others, the Swedish Social Insurance Agency, the Swedish Tax Agency and the municipalities - can take over a year to issue a judgment in many cases.

Social insurance targets are increasing the most

According to the court, it is the social insurance goals that have increased the most.

- These are cases where you are dissatisfied with the Swedish Social Insurance Agency's decision on the right to sickness benefit and then you appeal it to us and many have done so.

It is a doubled influx and it makes it difficult for us to keep up with the resources we have, says Marie-Jeanette Axelius Friberg.
