Julian Bugier, the current joker of Anne-Sophie Lapix at 20H de France 2, will take the reins of the mid-day television news from January, the channel announced in a press release.

He replaces Marie-Sophie Lacarrau, debauched by TF1 to replace Jean-Pierre Pernaut for the 13H most watched in France.

Julian Bugier, 38, is one of the rising stars of La Deux, whom he joined in 2011. After being joker of Laurent Delahousse at the weekend, he becomes David Pujadas' replacement during the week.

In addition to the news, he regularly hosts evenings of debates and thematic programs on the channel.

Since September 2015, he has also presented the weekly consumer magazine "Tout Compte fait" and since July 2017, he has been entrusted with the magazine "Crisis cell".

Passed by BloombergTV, BFMTV and iTélé (now CNews), he joined Europe 1 at the start of the school year to host the 6-8pm segment.

Karine Baste-Regis, who has been presenting Télématin news for a year, will be replacing Anne-Sophie Lapix at the 20H de France 2 during the week from January, as a joker presenter.

"These two appointments testify to our ability to promote the internal talents of France Televisions. They will, I am sure, carry our editorial ambition ever higher", commented in a press release Laurent Guimier, news director of France Televisions .
