21 September 2020 The infections at work from Covid-19 reported to Inail as of 31 August are 52,209 (incidence of 19.4% compared to the total national infected communicated by the Higher Institute of Health on the same date), 846 more than those detected by monitoring as of 31 July.

There are 303 fatal cases (about one third of the deaths reported to Inail since the beginning of the year and with an incidence of 0.9% compared to the total national deaths from Covid-19 reported by the ISS as of August 31), 27 more compared to the data collected at 31 July, concentrated mainly among men (83.8%) and in the 50-64 age group (69.3%) and over 64 years (19.8%), with an average age of the deceased 59 years old.

Taking into consideration the total of occupational infections reported to the Institute, the gender ratio is reversed - 71.3% of infected workers are women - and the average age drops to 47 years.

Eight out of 10 complaints are concentrated in Northern Italy.

To take stock of the situation is the eighth national report prepared by the Statistical Actuarial Consultancy of the Institute, published today together with the updated version of the detailed sheets on the cases registered in the Regions and autonomous provinces.
