The gendarmes of Pont-Audemer (Eure) arrested on Tuesday a 56-year-old man who was driving drunk with a blood alcohol level of 2 g / l.

The police also discovered that the motorist had been driving without a driving license for 37 years, reports

"He has simply never passed his driving license", confided to our colleagues Captain André Guidoux, second in command of the Pont-Audemer brigade company.

The fifty-year-old, domiciled in Caudebec-lès-Elbeuf, will be summoned on November 23 to the Rouen court for an appearance on prior admission of guilt.

Up to 15,000 euros fine

According to the Public Service website and the local weekly, anyone driving without obtaining their license, whether after a suspension or a cancellation, is an offense.

This is punishable by up to one year's imprisonment and a fine of 15,000 euros.

In fact, the driver risks a significant fine accompanied by additional conditions which can go as far as confiscation of the vehicle or the prohibition to pass his license.
