Attacked while jogging.
This Monday, in the morning, a septuagenarian is between life and death after being the victim of an attack by three dogs, two staffs and a pitbull, while he was jogging in Istres, west of Marseille .
"The victim suffers from very serious injuries to the lower limbs, his vital prognosis is engaged", specifies the departmental direction of public security (DDSP) of Bouches-du-Rhône.
A dog willfully crushed
The scene took place in the Entressen district in the middle of the morning, around 10:30 am. A motorist who witnessed it deliberately ran over one of the three dogs, to save the jogger.
A team from the Istres police station then arrived and shot the second dog.
The third animal, which had fled and had taken refuge in the home from which it had escaped with the two others, was taken in charge by the municipal pound of Istres.
"He will undoubtedly be euthanized," said the DDSP.
The owner of the three animals was arrested and taken into custody.
Only two of the three animals were in compliance with the law, according to the DDSP.
One of the dogs had not been sterilized and had not been subjected to a behavioral analysis.
