Two outbreaks detected at the

Virgen de las Nieves University Hospital in Granada

have meant that a total of 21 professionals are affected, mainly by one of these outbreaks, the Ministry of Health of the Junta de Andalucía reported this Sunday.

The most important outbreak adds 41 cases, of which 16 are professionals, while in the other there are another five health workers affected.

The hospital center detailed yesterday that after learning about these outbreaks, a control protocol has been launched, which includes a tracking of family and professional contacts and the isolation of each of the cases, in addition to a

massive screening of all the workers of affected areas by PCR

.

After these infections have been related to an alleged celebration for the retirement of a worker, health sources confirmed to Efe that this has occurred recently, although at the moment it is being investigated whether the origin of the outbreaks detected in the hospital is related or not direct with that event.

The Ministry of Health has also notified this Sunday two new outbreaks in residences on the last day, one in the

El Yate Vitalia

center

in Alcolea (Córdoba)

, with thirteen confirmed cases and one deceased, and another in the Ballesol Residence in Seville, with 8 cases and another death.

In the Vitalia Teatinos Residence in Malaga there are 94 confirmed cases (77 residents and 17 workers) and the seventh deceased has been recorded.

There is also another death in the San Antonio de Vícar Residence (Almería), with 14 affected residents;

and one more in that of Our Lady of Africa in Santa Eufemia de Córdoba, with 42 cases, thirty of them residents.

In the Sierra de las Nieves center in Guaro (Málaga) there are another 51 cases (40 residents and 11 workers).
