The FBI identifies the source of a toxic package that was sent to Trump

Canadian police have said that the package containing a toxic substance that was sent to the US President, Donald Trump, may have originated in Canada, according to preliminary information from the FBI.

The Canadian "CBC News" channel quoted a spokesman for the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Dan Bryan, today, Sunday, that she "had received a request for assistance from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) regarding a suspicious letter addressed to the White House."

Brian added that "the preliminary information obtained during the investigation suggests that the message came from Canada," noting that he could not provide further details at present.

And several US media outlets reported, on Saturday, that the security services had intercepted, earlier in the week, a letter that was sent to the White House with the aim of delivering it to Trump.

The letter was intercepted at a government institution concerned with examining mail destined for the White House, and officials familiar with the matter confirmed that the parcel contained a highly toxic substance ricin, and this was proven by two tests.
