　　The Twelfth Straits Forum Conference was held in Xiamen on the same day. Wu Chengdian, who attended the conference, said in his speech, "We, who believe that only exchanges can bring peace across the strait, must come before all obstacles are eliminated."

　　Wu Chengdian emphasized that the New Party has always stood for one China and peaceful reunification, agreed with the "92 Consensus," and resolutely opposed "Taiwan independence." This position has remained consistent over the past 20 years and has not changed.

　　He advocated the promotion of the "one country, two systems" Taiwan program, deepening the cross-strait integration that Kinmen and Mazu pioneered, and the spiritual harmony of compatriots on both sides of the strait.

　　On August 5, 2018, the water supply project in Quanzhou, Fujian was officially connected to the Jinmen Water Supply Project. The vision of “drinking one river together” on both sides of the strait finally came true after 23 years.

　　"If the compatriots on both sides of the Taiwan Strait are not devoted and unreserved to contribute, how can this event be successful?" Wu Chengdian, who was born in Kinmen, vividly remembers the situation of local people "worshiping the sky and praying for rain" when they were short of water as a child.

　　Since February 10 this year, the Xiamen-Kinmen route has been suspended due to the epidemic, and it has been more than half a year so far.

Wu Chengdian said, "I came to participate in the Straits Forum this time, and the folks in Kinmen have made petitions to me. How eagerly they hope that Jinxia's "mini three links" can be restored as soon as possible!"

　　Wu Chengdian not only hopes that the "mini three links" can continue to promote cross-strait exchanges, but also hopes that the upcoming Xiamen New Airport will bring the common prosperity of Kinmen and Xiamen, and realize the "Jinxia Living Circle" as soon as possible.

　　Wu Chengdian even hopes that the "new four links" can be implemented in the "Jinxia Living Circle". The Xiamen Metro extends from Dadeng Island to Kinmen. Kinmen and Xiamen will learn from each other and inspire creativity under different systems, using the "mini three links". Promote the "big three links" and integrate the two sides of the strait.

　　Wu Chengdian believes that only reunification can truly bring a win-win situation to compatriots on both sides of the strait, and that the nation will be rejuvenated.

He said that compatriots on both sides of the strait should support each other and join hands to achieve national rejuvenation. The New Party is willing to serve as a bridge for cross-strait communication and is willing to work together with all Taiwan compatriots who pursue peaceful reunification.
