Japanese Prime Minister Suga held the first telephone talks with US President Trump on the 20th, four days after taking office.

It is a full-fledged diplomatic move, and the prospect that the cooling period will continue for a while is predominant with us.

Japanese Prime Minister Suga held the first telephone meeting with US President Trump last night from 9:35 to 25 minutes.

After finishing the phone call, Suga met with reporters and said that "we have agreed to strengthen the US-Japan alliance."

President Trump suggested, "Let's develop the US-Japan alliance together," and replied, "The US-Japan alliance is the foundation of regional peace and stability."

He also added that President Trump said, "Please call me 24 hours a day, if anything happens."

The two leaders agreed to cooperate with the North Korean issue and the development and distribution of COVID-19 treatment and vaccines.

Prime Minister Suga had the first telephone summit meeting with Australian Prime Minister Morrison earlier that evening, after taking office.

The Japanese media analyzed that it was a diplomatic move to dispel the criticism that the diplomatic experience was insufficient.

Therefore, attention is also being paid to the possibility of a meeting with President Moon Jae-in.

However, Japanese media said that at the first press conference after Prime Minister Suga took office on the 16th, while referring to China and Russia as close neighbors, they avoided mentioning Korea. I predicted that there is a high possibility that the frozen Korea-Japan relations will continue based on the points that have been revealed.
