"The United States welcomes the return of almost all the previously canceled UN sanctions against the Islamic Republic of Iran," RIA Novosti quoted Pompeo as saying.
According to him, the sanctions were reinstated in accordance with the organization's procedures.
He added that the US expects all UN countries to abide by the implementation commitments.
Earlier it was reported that the United States in the coming days will take measures against Iran and "violators" of the UN Security Council sanctions on the Iranian nuclear program.
