20 September 2020 "I now learn that over 60 positives arrived with the Open Arms in Palermo. To these are added those already present in Sicily and those who have tests in progress. All while the 'red zone' established yesterday proved to be a timely choice with the number of positives in the Palermo community that has grown to over 100. And then Lampedusa again overcrowded and other NGOs that claim to use Sicilian ports while we are bursting. I would like them to think about this at the European summit on 23 September. I would like them to understand that Europe is absent on its most open front: the Mediterranean. They have abandoned it and the West cannot ignore it. The price is paid by Sicily and the rest of Italy ".

Thus in a note the president of the Sicilian Region, Nello Musumeci.

"There is unprecedented arrogance - he adds - a vulgar exploitation that overturns reality: those who defend human rights are accused of racism; those who do not care about the health of the least, are ready for canonization. In a world so, in a world that goes the other way around, no one should complain if fear generates insecurity. And, as we know, totalitarianisms are fueled by insecurity, not democracies ".

To these are added those already present in #Sicilia and those that have tests in progress.
