At 82, Jean-Pierre Elkabbach, absent from the screens for a year for health reasons, will find the continuous news channel CNews next Sunday at 7 pm for a new political program, "Repères", he announced. at the Parisian.

"What I had was unexpected and violent. I was lucky to be treated by the best. I resisted, here I am standing," said the journalist, who had left the air at the end of October 2019.

Referring to his new program, Jean-Pierre Elkabbach explains that "there will be a central guest, politician, historian, philosopher, artist ... to help us understand our society. With in addition each Sunday a different speaker, who we do not see not everywhere".

Asked about the tone of the debates on CNews and the "sometimes radical words" heard on the channel, he replied that "the writing approach (have) all subjects with all trends".

"CNews is now a potential leader in continuous news channels because it is a mirror of current France, it offers debates with interlocutors who confront each other without taboos", adds the journalist.

“Everything is said here, even subjects forbidden by fear of unique thought and fashion. May the skeptics have the courage to come, they have their place!” He continued.

As for his own political sensitivity, he assured that he was trying to do his job "in all neutrality".
