Just over a year ago, we met Ludwig Göransson's father Tomas in the childhood home and he showed the guitars that Ludwig learned to play.

See more in the video above.

By then, Ludwig had won an Oscar for the music for the film Black Panther.

Last night he won an Emmy for the original music for the "Star wars" series "The Madalorian".

- I was up at five this morning and saw that he had won so I called and congratulated.

He was very happy, of course, but had not watched it so closely because he is in the middle of filming "The Madalorian 2".

He had found out about it from a friend who called and told him, says Tomas Göransson.

"It might be a pastry - and champagne"

When we visited the childhood home a year ago, the parents would celebrate with a roll.

- Now it may well be a pastry.

And some champagne.

We have a bottle lying here.

There are a lot of memories that come up on an occasion like this, says Tomas Gustavsson.

"A strong moment"

- It was at the age of 9 that it ignited.

I was a music teacher then in the municipal music school and practiced the Metallica song "Enter Sandman" at home, to be able to play with a student.

Ludwig heard me rehearse that tough song and lit up.

It was so strong that moment.

Watch the interview with the father that we did a year ago in the video.

“You get very proud, of course, and many memories emerge.

It was at the age of nine that it ignited, when I sat at home and rehearsed a Metallica song ", says Tomas Göransson.

The video is from February 2019 when we visited the childhood home.
