Users of social media platforms in Egypt have complained of difficulties using the Internet, especially Facebook, and viewing videos.

This came in conjunction with demonstrations in cities and villages across Egypt to demand the departure of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, after calls by businessman Mohamed Ali to demonstrate, which was adopted by a large number of opposition forces.

Angry demonstrations took place in a number of neighborhoods and villages in Cairo, Giza, Qalyubia, Alexandria and Aswan, and activists published videos showing the security forces' response to the demonstrations and dispersing them by force.
