A woman discovers her marriage to a different person in Dubai after 13 years

An Asian woman discovered that her husband, who has been living with her for nearly 13 years, was another man who had a different identity than that with which she had known him throughout their marriage, so she reported him to the Dubai Police, and an investigation by the Public Prosecution found that he had impersonated another person after forging a health card attributed to the Ministry of Health. And a report proving that he is free of communicable diseases, and according to them, a forged marriage certificate of the victim issued by the Dubai Sharia Court of First Instance in 2007.

For her part, the 38-year-old wife said that the accused submitted to her marriage in 2007 and identified himself as, and after agreeing on the details, the marriage was concluded in the Dubai Sharia Court, after showing him a health card with the same name, with his picture affixed in the presence of two witnesses, one of whom was her brother, and she gave birth to a child.

She added that after 11 years of marriage, they disagreed as a result of a misunderstanding about some matters, then disputes developed into the litigation stage, and she obtained a divorce and left the house, noting that she asked him during their marriage when their three-year-old son reached to obtain an identity card and a passport for her, but he was procrastinating, and demanded him So again when the child turned seven, but he also tricked her until he told her his real name, so she filed for divorce and the Dubai Police reported him.

For his part, a Dubai police witness said that he had started an investigation with the accused, who stated that he married the victim nearly 13 years ago, and assumed the status of another person to complete the marriage because he did not carry identification papers, and he had a 12-year-old son from them, and issued him a birth certificate from Preventive medicine, but he was not issued an identity card or passport.

The Dubai Public Prosecution directed him to commit two felonies of forgery in an official document, and to use it as a misdemeanor to provide false personal information to a public employee.
