Around midnight, the night before Saturday, the police received an alarm about a riot in central Gislaved.
A man in his 25s had been injured by a kind of shelter and the suspected perpetrators would have run away.
Several police patrols arrived at the scene and found the seriously injured man who later died from the injuries.

Relatives have been notified, says police spokesperson Angelica Israelsson Silfver.
Two suspects arrested
With the help of information, the police were able to arrest two suspected perpetrators in connection with the crime scene.
The men are in their 20s and they are suspected of murder.
Police forensic technicians have been on the scene and conducted a crime scene investigation.
