A dentist in Alaska, USA, who was controversial, was sentenced to 12 years in prison on 46 charges after performing a tooth extraction procedure while riding a two-wheeled electric mobile device, a hoverboard, and sending it to acquaintances.

35-year-old dentist Seth Lookhart took a sedative while on a hoverboard at his hospital in July 2016 and pulled a tooth from an unconscious female patient.

He captured this image of himself in a video and sent it to at least eight people.

In the video, he pulled out his teeth and raised his arms as if he had won.

In a text message pasted while sending a video, Lukhart referred to his behavior as "the new standard of care."

Prosecutors accused him of "unlawful medical practice that does not meet the minimum professional standards in dentistry."

The patient who had undergone the procedure recently came to the court to testify and said that he did not know that the doctor was on a hoverboard or filmed a video until he was contacted by investigators.

The patient told the dentist in court, "What you did was shocking, narcissistic, and crazy."

The Alaska Dental Association investigated more than a year after the incident and suspended his dentist's license.

Apart from this, Luxhart has also been admitted to 46 charges, including theft and the abuse of Medicaid, the US's low-income medical expenses support system.

They said they were fraudulently billing Medicaid at least $1.8 million, and stolen more than $250,000 from business partners they did business with.

The Ministry of Justice also stated that "Lookhart has performed thousands of times of anesthetic treatment without patient consent, which is beyond the scope of the training experience or knowledge learned.
