Zeng Li opened a Chinese-Myanmar bilingual training institution in Ruili, and her Burmese name "Susu" became more famous locally.
In 2017, Zeng Li used "Susu" as her screen name and initiated the recruitment of translation volunteers on WeChat.
Today, more than 30 volunteers who master multiple languages have joined Ruili's "Pauk Pak (Burmese, meaning brothers) volunteer service team", including Chinese and Burmese.
“Ruili is close to Myanmar and the two places have close exchanges. At that time, I just wanted to use my language advantage to contribute a little to the exchanges between the two places.” Zeng Li said.
In more than three years, the members of the volunteer service team have served many times for the China-Myanmar Pauk Pauk Festival, the China-Myanmar Marathon and other events, and often provide free translations for those who need to communicate between China and Myanmar.
On the evening of the 14th, Ruili City notified the details of two newly imported cases of new coronary pneumonia from Myanmar on the 13th, and announced that after 22:00 on the 14th, no special circumstances will be allowed to enter or leave the urban area of Ruili City. The time is tentatively set for one week. .
At the same time, free nucleic acid testing was carried out for all employees in Ruili City.
That night, after Zeng Li learned of the news, she immediately decided to join the "epidemic" of the war.
She called on volunteer translators to come to the nucleic acid testing site, assist the staff in translating the certificates of Burmese personnel, and guide Burmese personnel to undergo tests in an orderly manner in Burmese.
"There are more than 20 volunteers who came to the scene this time, and more than 60% of them are Burmese. They feel that this matter is very meaningful, not only to help the medical staff on the scene, but also to provide for the Myanmar compatriots in Ruili. Help." Zeng Li said, "There are more than 10 people who are assisting in the translation of some documents and certificates online."
Infected by Zeng Li's enthusiasm and warm personality, Chinese Burmese Li Qiuying also became one of the volunteers this time.
"The medical staff on the scene are very hard, and they are very patient when testing for the Burmese personnel. We will also use our own strength and try our best to assist them." After completing most of the translation and guidance work at the nucleic acid testing site, she again Actively request to join the team of epidemic prevention propaganda.
"Myanmar people will feel at ease and grateful after receiving free nucleic acid testing here. There are also some Myanmar people who do not understand the importance of testing. We will come to them to promote the current epidemic prevention measures and the importance of testing." Li Qiuying, who has worked and lived in Ruili for 10 years, often misses her relatives who live in Mandalay, Myanmar.
"I will pay attention to the situation of the Myanmar epidemic, and I will teach them some of the epidemic prevention knowledge I have learned here." She said, "I told them to wash their hands frequently, go out less, and disinfect before returning from the outside."
