“We ask you to consider the feasibility of amending the current legislation in terms of establishing the obligation of manufacturers of pyrotechnic goods sold in Russia to apply warning information on 50% of their product packaging, as well as images of the consequences of unsafe handling of these products,” the appeal says.

Kurdesov also noted that every year the use of household pyrotechnics (fireworks, firecrackers), especially during major holidays such as the New Year, leads to massive injuries to the hands and face, and burns.

At the same time, the use of pyrotechnics often ends in fires and broken glass in apartment buildings.

All this happens due to a careless attitude and a poor understanding of what the misuse of pyrotechnic technology threatens, the public figure noted.

Earlier, a member of the Public Chamber and the head of the federal project "Sober Russia" Sultan Khamzayev sent a letter to the head of the Ministry of Health Mikhail Murashko (a copy is available to RT) with a proposal to limit the sale of alcoholic beverages on New Year's days to four hours a day (from 14:00 to 18: 00).
