Several cinema actors that SVT spoke to confirm that the audience figures at the cinemas in Uppsala have fallen markedly this year compared to last year, with the corona pandemic.

Nordisk Film cinema in Gränbystaden is one of these and in March they decided, like several other actors, to temporarily close their doors.

After three months, Nordisk Film chose to show films again, but of course with the maximum number of 50 people in each salon according to the current restrictions.

- It is clear that it has affected us very much.

This year we expect to lose about half of the number of tickets sold compared to last year, says Fredrik Andersson, brand manager at Nordisk Film in Gränbystaden.

The interest in cinema is great

- It is definitely a hard blow.

How it affects us in time and how long we can have it open depends largely on how the film schedule looks in the future.

Fredrik Andersson still sees a glimmer of light despite the limitations: That the interest in watching films in cinemas lives on.

- Especially evenings and weekends, we are usually full in all salons, but then the limit of 50 people is an obstacle where we would have room for more visitors and still keep a good distance to all parties, he says.
