CCOO

denounces that the Police are failing to comply with the duty to communicate cases of coronavirus positives in their offices, as well as ignoring the rest of the detection and tracking protocols, with the serious risk that this entails, since it is often about places open to the public through which hundreds of people pass every day.

There are DNI offices or police stations between these centers.

That is why the union, from its branch of the Interior, has demanded that the ministry led by

Fernando Grande-Marlaska

and the

General Directorate of the Police

comply with the monitoring and tracking protocols of Covid-19 between the police and non-police personnel that provide service in their work centers.

CCOO assures that it knows situations of several

positive cases confirmed by PCR test

in police units, without this circumstance having been communicated to the health services of the autonomous communities or their own health and safety committees.

Fernando García,

general secretary of the CCOO union section in the Ministry of the Interior, assured: "In addition to verbal communications, we have sent multiple letters to the Police and its Prevention Service requesting that the cases be transferred to be able to stop possible contagions in the police offices, without having received any response and without the situation having been redirected. "

This has resulted in the union itself that has communicated the positive cases to the communities of

Madrid and Andalusia,

where these infections have been registered in police facilities.

At least there is evidence of cases in 11 work centers, which represents 3% of dependencies, according to García.

In most of these places there has been more than one confirmed case, so the CCOO suspects that "a massive contagion could be taking place in these offices."

"The lack of transparency in communication makes us think that we are only seeing the tip of the iceberg. We do not know if disinfection is being carried out, but in general it is not promoting the preventive isolation of personnel or carrying out tests and, what which is more serious, is not informing of these positives to the citizens who go to the offices to issue the DNI, passport, immigration procedures or filing of complaints, among others ", insists García.

And he adds: "We are talking about spaces through which between 400 and 1,200 people pass daily."

The greatest incidence, as is happening in other areas, is occurring in the city of Madrid.

Positive cases have been registered in the documentation offices of

Tetuán, Centro, Villaverde 1, Santa Engracia, the Provincial Immigration Brigade and the General Information Police Station,

in the Canillas Police Complex, as well as in the Local Police Station of

Aranjuez,

according to affirms the union after visiting the premises and speaking with the workers.

Outside of this community, there is evidence of confirmed cases in

Bilbao, Zaragoza, Seville and Fuengirola.

"CCOO has transferred this situation to the competent health ministries of the autonomous communities of Madrid and Andalusia, at the same time that it insists on the prevention services of the Police, demanding that the mechanisms be put in place immediately. of tracking, detection and prevention that mark the protocols of the Ministry of Health ", says García.
