The signatories of this joint communiqué call for an immediate ceasefire in the English-speaking regions of the North-West and South-West, in crisis for several years, as well as a reform of the electoral system before any poll is held, then that regional elections are scheduled for early December.

If these objectives were not achieved, the movements say they are ready to continue their mobilization.

"

It is a march which is a prerequisite for future marches which will require the departure of Paul Biya on the assumption that, after the peaceful and non-violent marches on September 22, the crisis in the North-West and the South-West , but also the essential reforms of the electoral system would not be resolved,

”explained Olivier Nissack, spokesperson for the main opponent, Maurice Kamto.

This week, the Cameroonian government said it had taken note of "

calls for insurgency and warned against any attempt at destabilization

 ".

Olivier Nissack denies this: "

It is not the authors of peaceful marches for the restoration of Cameroonian democracy who will destabilize a country already largely destabilized by the poor quality of its illegitimate presidency and the poor quality of its governance. .

 "

The MRC says discussions are still ongoing with other movements, such as the Social Democratic Front (SDF) party of John Fru Ndi, which is not among the signatories of the document.
