It is 75 meters long and has an estimated capacity of 8,000 people per hour in both directions.

The Director General and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Authority, Mattar Muhammad Al Tayer, said that the pedestrian bridge is distinguished by its distinctive design, as an architectural icon that adds to the aesthetics of the marina area, which is a destination for sea lovers, and provides a unique experience for residents and visitors of the emirate, indicating that the design of the bridge façade is inspired by nature. The urban area of the area, and the shape and color are consistent with the shapes and colors of the surrounding buildings, and the curved shape of the bridge expresses the nature of the coastal site, and the fluidity that it will achieve by providing coherence and harmony with its surroundings, and the bridge allows pedestrians to move between the different sides of the intersection completely freely, without having to stop at traffic lights.

Al Tayer explained that the implementation of a pedestrian bridge of this size in the Marina area came for several reasons, including the large number of pedestrians at the intersection, which exceeds 2,300 people during peak hours, while the number of vehicles that use the intersection reaches about 2,000 vehicles during peak hours in each direction, and it is estimated The number of people crossing the intersection towards the Jumeirah Beach Residence area, on the weekend, is more than 1000 people in each direction, and among the reasons is the Dubai Tram crossing the interchange every six minutes, and the presence of two Dubai tram stations, bus stops, and the absence of any pedestrian crossings near Intersection.

He stressed that the authority pays special attention to pedestrian safety, and is keen to provide safe means of transportation to cross the road, pointing to the development of standards on the basis of which sites for the implementation of pedestrian bridges are selected in Dubai, and traffic studies take into account traffic density, the number of pedestrian accidents and deaths, and the maximum road speed. The number of road lanes, the density of population movement on both sides of the road, the distance to the nearest pedestrian crossing, the location of public transport bus stops, in addition to the areas where markets and institutions are concentrated, and the sites where a large proportion of trampling accidents are recorded.

Al Tayer called on residents, including citizens, residents and visitors, to use bridges and tunnels designated to cross the road, and also called on vehicle drivers to adhere to the speed limit and reduce it at pedestrian crossings, in order to ensure their safety and the safety of road users.
