Earlier this week, the thieves tore open a window and entered the Hilton stable located at Lurbo riding club.

One of those who got rid of their saddle is Anna Jansson.

- It is a great feeling of unease that they have been in here, says Anna who was the one who discovered that there had been a burglary.

This is the first time that any of the stables at Lurbo have been hit by this type of burglary.

Theft is described as a recurring phenomenon where the perpetrators know what they want: Exclusive saddles.

- You feel a little powerless.

If you look at how many people usually get their saddles back, there are not very many.

It feels a bit hopeless that they basically just come and pick up the saddles, says Alexandra Eriksson.

"A bit of a wave"

Recently, there have been several stable burglaries reported in both Västmanland and Uppland.

During the summer months, there have only been a few per month.

In September, there was a minor boom of eight.

Police suspect that international criminal networks are behind the thefts.

- It's a bit of a wave, says Jonas Eronen, press spokesperson for the police.

SVT visited one of the affected farms - hear more in the clip.
