According to the Poison Information Center, corn balls, also called Dragon's Breath, can be very harmful to people's health.

The balls are filled with liquid nitrogen and sold for the purpose of having the corn ball in your mouth and then puffing out nitrogen gas, hence the name.

- We want to warn especially young people in their early teens, who see this on social media.

Right now it's mainly on Tik-Tok, but it has also appeared on Instagram.

Putting these balls in your mouth can have very serious consequences, says Christin Edmark, chief physician at the Poison Information Center in a press release.

"May cause the stomach to rupture"

The Poison Information Center writes that the corn balls can be life-threatening because liquid nitrogen is quickly converted to gas and expands inside the body, “It can cause the stomach to rupture.

If you inhale a larger amount of the gas, you may become deficient in oxygen and become unconscious.

You can also get frostbite in the mouth and throat, in the respiratory tract and gastrointestinal tract. ”

The phenomenon was greatest in the United States in the summer of 2018 but was then banned there.

The corn balls probably started in the USA and recently the Poison Information Center has been contacted by the health service after cases where there was a risk of serious consequences.
