Liverpool legend John Barnes confirmed press reports that the Reds star Mohamed Salah could move to Barcelona.

The British press quoted the statements of former Dutch player Shjac Swart to a Dutch website at the beginning of this week, in which he confirmed that his close friend, the new Barcelona coach Ronald Koeman, wanted to include Salah (28 years) for the Blaugrana, indicating that he knew that the Egyptian star wanted to leave the Reds.

Barnes commented on Goal, saying that "speculation is normal with big clubs and big players, as Salah has been linked to moving to Barcelona several times."

Barnes expressed his hope that Salah would continue with the Reds, but indicated that if he continued to shine, there would be more major clubs interested in joining him.

The former England international star confirmed that Salah is more popular in the Liverpool team, more than Sadio Mane and Firmino, as everyone loves him and he is the first favorite of the Reds fans.

Salah showed great ingenuity in deciding Liverpool's opening match in the Premier League last Saturday against Leeds, by scoring a hat-trick in his team's difficult 4-3 victory.

The Egyptian star has a market value of 120 million euros, according to the German football-economics website Transfermarkt.
