More than 30 million infections around the world with "Corona" and a warning about a "dangerous" increase in Europe

The number of confirmed cases of coronavirus worldwide has exceeded 30 million, according to figures from Johns Hopkins University of America.

More than 940,000 people have died of COVID-19 since the outbreak began in China late last year.

The United States, India and Brazil are among the most affected countries, but there is a new increase in the number of infections across Europe.

Many countries in the Northern Hemisphere are now preparing for a second wave of the epidemic as winter approaches.

The United States remains the hardest hit by numbers, with more than 6.6 million confirmed infections and more than 197,000 deaths.

The World Health Organization warned that the new weekly cases in Europe exceeded the numbers recorded when the epidemic first peaked in March.

On Thursday, WHO Regional Director Hans Kluge said that 300,000 new cases were reported in the past week alone.

"We have a very dangerous situation unfolding before us," he added.

Some European countries, including Britain and France, recorded their highest daily rates in months.

The ability to conduct Corona tests has increased across Europe, which means that identifying and registering cases is now much easier.
