For a few weeks now, Aktuelltredaktionen has been interviewing all party leaders in the Riksdag.

We have chosen to have the common heading Half-time, which means that the Riksdag is halfway into the term of office.

On the same day that the Sweden Democrats 'party leader Jimmie Åkesson was to be interviewed, Expressen revealed that an employee at the Sweden Democrats' office, also group leader for the Sweden Democrats in a municipality, had expressed gross racism in a covert chat.

It is obvious for a newsroom to ask questions about this to the party leader.

Åkesson was also asked that he coughed and showed signs of a cold during a performance in the Riksdag, which was clearly linked to the party's views on the handling of the corona pandemic.

Rough onslaught

These two journalistically well-motivated questions led to our host during the week being subjected to serious attacks in emails and on social media.

Here are some examples:

"There is a lamppost specially reserved for you."

"Your brain-dead ugly left subwoofer… I will soon remind you of this interview.

Where and how - just wait and see. ”

“You may not have any children you are afraid of.

I would definitely be in your clothes. ”

"I feel sorry for your children when SD increases so much."

Completely unacceptable

This is far beyond all bounds of decency.

No one should have to endure this in their professional practice.

But this is not the first time employees at SVT Nyheter or for that matter other journalists are exposed only because they have done their job.

It is Aktuelltredaktionen and the responsible publisher who will be responsible for the content of our broadcasts.

It is to the editorial staff and / or the responsible publisher that criticism should be directed.

The fact that presenters are subjected to contempt, threats and insults is completely unacceptable.
